Top 5 Swimwear Trends For Summer 2010
By Kiki J
1) Ruffled Swimwear –
A very prominent trend all over the 2010 Spring and Summer Runways, it is really no surprise ruffles have made their way into swimwear. Look for ruffles on all types of swimsuits this season, from one and two pieces, to Swimdresses. Also, there are no rules as to where the ruffles should be located. Just remember ruffles accentuate the area they are covering, so if you are small busted, ruffles on top can add volume to your proportion.
2) Monokini Swimwear –
Even though the Monokini is technically a one piece suit, the side cut-outs make it look like a two piece from the back. This lack of coverage, makes it is one of sexiest swimwear trends this season. However, the lack of tummy tucking and side support also makes it a difficult swimsuit to pull off. Ultimately, while this trend is not be for everyone, it certainly is one that we will be seeing a lot of this season.
3) Mix & Match Tankini –
There are no rules when mixing and matching your own Tankini top and bottoms. In fact, this trend is meant to bring out each woman’s individuality, because who wants to show up to the beach in the same swimsuit as the next girl? This trend is also forgiving on the pocketbook, because you can really just pull together this look from your own wardrobe.
4) Asymmetrical Swimwear -
One shoulder shapes are a popular trend in dresses and tops this season and now we are seeing it in swimwear. The reason why it is so popular is that it looks great on so many body shapes. Asymmetrical swimsuits come in all shapes and sizes. The key is that one shoulder should be completely exposed. If you are more adventurous, look for a one shoulder design on top, with cut-outs in the middle.
5) Swimdresses –
A refreshing and welcoming addition to 2010, the Swimdress is soon to be the choice of women everywhere. This is because it offers more coverage than a traditional one piece suit, with more opportunity to sneak in tummy tucking control panels. Ultimately, the Swimdress is a very forgiving style, because it hides tummy and bottom issues, while accentuating the bust and trimming the waist.
