2010 Summer Footwear Trends

The audience is anxious. Anticipation and speculation is in a frenzy. Many of the guests are snuggled in the winter wools, most sporting the current seasons hottest and latest trend in boots, but the eyes are on what is about to come down the runway and will be in the 2010 summer line-up for footwear.

The music started and it looks like the anklet has definitely evolved!

The summer trend is a bigger and bolder statement for the ankle – and many shoe designers have adapted the trend into their latest designs, hitting the retail market as you read this! Of course the runway is an exaggerated version of what the average person will wear, but the clues are there.

Whats in vogue? Call them ankle cuffs, straps, bracelets – most of the trend has a built in anklet wrap attached to the shoe. From the most exclusive handmade designer to a mass produced discount shoe supplier, everyone jumped aboard.

So what does that mean for jewelry designers? The anklet bracelet trend for this summer is a bolder wrap and cuff for those consumers that are choosing a traditional shoe, yet still want the trend. I’ve seen large flat gemstone bracelets and rhinestone studded leather snap cuffs.
