Shorts are basically shortened trousers worn by men, women and children to beat the summer heat, or to adapt to the heat in warmer climates. Initially, in the 19th century, shorts were worn only by boys until they were old enough to be given their first pair of trousers. Men in those days would not wear shorts as they regarded shorts to be too immature. Women back then wore skirts or dresses.
Things have changed tremendously since then. Everyone wears shorts in summer or when the temperatures soar. Women wear shorts for comfort and to enhance their sexuality. Shorts show off the legs. If you have great legs, shorts show them off. Yes, there are mini skirts and minidresses but those can look contrived. Shorts are more relaxed. More natural. Effortlessly sexy, if you will.

The Roman Catholic Church in Manila prefers women not to wear skimpy shorts to mass. Apparently, people complained about women in skimpy shorts and plunging necklines were very distracting. Skimpy shorts on women do show off a lot of leg which guys can’t help but notice. Such attire is considered disrespectful in places of worship.
So are skimpy shorts sexier than longer ones?
It is a matter of taste. Being confident in your own skin is sexy. Okay. Guys would vote for short shorts on a slender body as sexy but have you seen Jennifer Aniston wearing long shorts in summer? She’s a natural who looked great in knee length shorts. Her inner beauty shows. That makes her sexier than an insecure teen icon who bares as much skin as possible just to look sexy. Both Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Alba looked amazing in tailored city shorts that are perfect for going out in summer.
Sometimes, too short shorts make you look like you are trying too hard. Maybe skinny women like Paris Hilton can get away with booty shorts but most grown women would look ridiculous in tiny shorts that show parts of your bare ass to anyone who’d care to look.

Sexy shorts are shorts that flatter you. First, get shorts that fit you and which cover your butt completely. Pick a length you are comfortable in and which you will not be self conscious wearing.
Tailored shorts are great. Since most off-the-rack shorts wouldn’t fit perfectly, what you can do is to get the size that fits your largest measurement. If the waist is too tight but the hips fit fine, go for a larger size that fits your waist. If it is too tight around the hips but loose around the waist, get a bigger size that fits your waist. Once you’ve got a pair you can wear comfortably, bring your shorts to the tailor who can alter it to fit you perfectly. That would be the sexiest pair of shorts you could wear.
