Samantha - Kim Cattrall was born on August 21, 1956 in Widnes, England, approximately 16 miles east of Liverpool. At the age of three months, emigrated with her father, Dennis, and mother, Shane, to Canada, where a large number of her films have been made. At the age of eleven, Kim returned to her native country and studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Upon her return to Vancouver, Canada, Kim graduated high school at age sixteen and won a scholarship to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. During her final year at the academy, she won a part in Otto Preminger’s Rosebud (1975). Following her film debut Kim returned to the theatre first in Vancouver and then played repertory in Toronto prior to winning a contract at Universal in Los Angeles.

Samantha is the oldest of the Sex and the City gang but that doesn’t mean she’s behind in the fashion stakes. Female First look at how you can channel Sam’s sexy power dressing style.

Sam’s wardrobe is all about bold colour and bold shapes. We all know she loves to make a shocking statement and her clothes reflect this.

As a high flying PR woman Sam spends most of her time in workwear- but forget frumpy trouser suits- she turns the office into a catwalk with lots of bright colours, 80s style shoulder pads and Dynasty inspired belted waists.

Away from the office Sam loves to show off her fab body at every opportunity- and why not?! Throughout all six series of the show she is seen enjoying the New York sunshine in some equally bright dress-down outfits.

Co-ordination is Sam’s thing when it comes to fashion and she loves a look to match from head to toe right down to wearing the same colour sungalsses and earrings.

Despite her age Sam is the most daring of the girls when it comes to flashing the flesh and when night time comes her wardrobe gets even more bold.

Sam loves to make an entrance- even more so when she hooks up with film star Smith in the later series- so she chooses clothes that will get her noticed. Low cut dresses, super short skirts and even a bright pink wig all turn heads and show off Sam’s confidence.
